Daisy and the Dream Bus is a picture book for primary aged children about a little girl named Daisy and her curious cat, Pippin. In the story, Daisy wishes she had more memories with her Grandad, but he lives up in the clouds now. When Daisy’s magical Dream Bus arrives one night, things suddenly get more exciting - it turns out that Daisy has a plan, and she has written to her Grandad and arranged to meet him in the clouds. Daisy plans to take a ride on her Dream Bus to meet Grandad and make some new memories together, in her dream.

Daisy and the Dream Bus is a lyrical, fun story for children and will capture their imaginations with its playful language and larger than life characters. At the same time, the book gently approaches themes of bereavement and loss, which can be painful and tricky subjects for children to discus.

This book has a ‘thoughts from the author’ section at the end, to support teachers/parents/carers to start conversations with children to build their emotional intelligence around recognising and naming emotions and developing coping strategies for big feelings.

This book can support the national curriculum, Key Stages 1 & 2 particularly in PSHE education, as well as English and Religious Education.
